Sally Field, 76, battled ageism in Hollywood her entire career and never had plastic surgery.

Given the pressure that well-known women frequently endure, it is uncommon to come across a celebrity in today’s world who hasn’t had work done. Being a woman in Hollywood is difficult, but Sally Field has defied most of the “rules” imposed, even at the age of 76.

We adore Sally Field’s roles in Forrest Gump and Steel Magnolias, among other movies. Her approach to overcoming ageism in her line of work, rather than on the screen, is where some of her best work can be found.

“I felt guarded, reserved, and out of the spotlight. But I was never sure what I would say or do on stage. I’d be surprised by myself. Though it’s nice, she said, “I wasn’t looking for applause or attention.”.

“For me, acting has always been about capturing those priceless moments when I feel wholly, completely, and occasionally dangerously alive. Understanding how to get there has always been the challenge. ”.

Field exuded grace and beauty while sporting a stunning black gown and naturally gray hair.

“They let me open up and showed me sides of myself I would not have known otherwise. My entire life has been devoted to work. I have been calling myself an actor for almost 60 years, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t feel a small sense of joy.

In 2016, Field discussed her character, Doris Miller, an elderly eccentric woman, in an interview with NPR.

“I’m an old woman; 70 is old, and that’s okay. I’ve grown stronger as I’ve gotten older; I’ve earned the right to be who I am through my years, which I own and have merited. I also don’t like my neck and a lot of other things, but it’s alright. ”.

Field has previously spoken in an interview about aging naturally. She spoke about overcoming the need to finish tasks during her career in an interview with Good Housekeeping in 2009.

I wish that wasn’t happening to my neck when I watch myself on television. Your eyes are swollen, and your face is collapsing. But then I see some of the women (who have undergone plastic surgery) who I thought were beautiful when they were younger. Oh, no! Don’t do that, I’m thinking now. It seems to be a disservice to who they are right now. ”.
